[ Crochet ] His Kira Kangaroo

It's been a long time since I posted something in this blog. I was very busy, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I sewed a lot, I knitted a little... I unravelled a lot! I read some blogs but haven't commented them... I looked after the toddler... a lot. Twenty for hours a day is not enough for me.

Thanks to Izzie Knits, I discovered new crochet hooks : Amour by Clover. They are so awesome that I pestered my sister-in-law to bring me some from her trip to Japan. Now, I can't stop making amigurumis for the toddler. I can crochet several hours in a row without feeling any pain.

At the last Trico'thé ( knitters reunion), I met Vekao and Mummy Padawan who told me about Lalylala's patterns. I immediately bought one and made it for my son. He chose Kira the kangaroo. I made it with Patons 100% cotton and a little of DMC Natura cotton. Voilà! Isn't it cute?

Ca fait un moment que je ne suis pas passée par ici! J'étais très occupée... Pas d'autres excuses à vous présenter.

J'ai cousu pas mal, tricoté un peu... parce que j'ai détricoté beaucoup! J'ai lu des blogs que je n'ai pas commenté... Je me suis occupée du p'tit bout... pas mal. En fait, vingt-quatre heures par jour ne me suffisent pas.

Sinon, grâce à Izzie Knits, j'ai découvert de nouveaux crochets,  les Amour de Clover. Je les ai trouvé tellement géniaux que j'ai harcelé ma belle-soeur pour qu'elle m'en rapporte un kit de son voyage au Japon. Du coup, je ne m'arrête pas de crocheter des amigurumis pour le petit d'Homme. En effet, on peut crocheter avec des heures durant sans ressentir aucune douleur.

Au dernier trico'thé d'Izzie, j'ai rencontré Vekao et Maman Padawan qui m'ont fait découvrir les patrons de Lalylala... Coup de foudre, j'en ai acheté un tout de suite. C'est le petit qui a choisi Kira le Kangourou. Je l'ai fait en 100% cotton de Patons et des restes de DMC Nature Cotton pour les pieds et poignets. Il est mignon, non?

How My Valentine's day started - l'Aiguille en Fête

Last week, I stayed in Paris. There was the "Aiguille en fête" meeting and I didn't want to miss that. I'm used to be abroad when it happens so that was my first time there. I didn't find anybody to look after the toddler so I grabbed him and took him with me on Valentine's day

L'Aiguille en fête is a French crafters' meeting... Not so French because I met German spinners, American and British knitters, Aussie shepherds etc. To cut a long story short, you could find everything about knitting, crochet, spinning, sewing, paper crafting, jewelry, quilting... Crafters' paradise indeed. To avoid any conflict with my hubby, I didn't bring my Visa Card but only some cash ( clever, isn't it?). Because I'm not sure that I could be reasonable in front of all these yarn hanks especially as I already bought some merino and cotton skeins in London the week before!

But the most important is that I met some French bloggers!!! That was fantastic to meet  In the loop founders Elise, Caroline and Bintou! Izzie Knits founder Izzie tried to teach crochet to my son. And obviously, my son son fell in love with Gab's who make beautiful garments with massive yarns! Thanks to Julie Adore, he started to knit a hat with a giant loom in the Prima's corner. He earned a kiss and an amigurumi pear from her... As if she knew that his middle name is Valentin ( French for Valentine ).

La semaine dernière, je suis restée à Paris exprès pour aller à l'Aiguille en fête! Pour rien au monde je ne voulais manquer ça. Je n'avais personne pour garder le petit, alors je l'ai pris sous le bras et y sommes allés ensemble.

Pour éviter tout incident diplomatique avec le chéri, j'ai sagement laissé dans un tiroir ma carte de crédit, n'emportant avec moi qu'une petite somme d'argent liquide. En effet, je n'étais pas sûre d'être assez raisonnable d'autant que j'avais déjà fait des folies une semaine auparavant à Londres. Pour résumer, c'était le paradis sur Terre pour toute crafteuse qui se respecte.

Le plus important est que j'ai rencontré des blogueuses françaises. C'était super sympa de mettre un visage sur Bintou, Caroline et Elise de In the Loop. Pendant ce temps, Izzie d'Izzie Knits apprenait le crochet au petit d'Homme. Ce dernier en a profité pour tomber amoureux de Gab's, tricoteuse qui travaille sur des laines de malades! Et grâce à Julie Adore, il a pu tricoter un bonnet d'après lui au tricotin géant. Il a gagné en prime un bisou et une poire amigurumi qu'il ne quitte plus... Comme si elle savait que son deuxième prénom était Valentin.

Voilà comment j'ai passé une partie de ma Saint Valentin!

Valentine's Day : Petit Coeur

As the toddler celebrates his birthday in January, I have no time to make anything for Valentine's day. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of this day as I love my lover almost every day. But I saw this so cute little heart ( petit coeur in French) on the web and I decided to make something to decorate my living room. It's an easy and quick crochet... Avec l'anniversaire du petit garçon en Janvier, je n'ai pas vraiment eu le temps de faire quoique ce soit pour la Saint Valentin. Pour être honnête, je ne suis pas vraiment fan de ce jour du fait que j'aime mon amoureux presque tous les jours. Mais quand j'ai vu ces petits coeurs au crochet sur la toile, j'ai décidé d'en faire pour décorer un peu le salon. C'est du crochet rapide et facile... Tant mieux pour moi qui ai tant d'encours...
